Adult Dose
Child Dose
Lutisone is generally well tolerated, though it may cause local burning and pruritus. Prolonged or intensive treatment can lead to skin thinning, striae, superficial blood vessel dilation, hypertrichosis, and hypopigmentation. Systemic absorption from extensive use can lead to hypercorticism, more common in infants and children and with occlusive dressing use.
Overdose Effects
Chronic misuse may result in hypercorticism. If ingestion occurs, systemic absorption is unlikely due to low oral bioavailability.
Lutisone 0.005% is a steroid medicine. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy due to skin conditions such as atopic eczema, allergic contact dermatitis, and psoriasis.
Fluticasone propionate, the active ingredient in Lutisone, is a potent topical glucocorticoid with high anti-inflammatory properties and minimal HPA-axis suppression. It has a high selectivity for glucocorticoid receptors, which contributes to its effectiveness. The therapeutic potency is related to the half-life of its receptor complex, approximately 10 hours, ensuring sustained anti-inflammatory effects.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area twice daily.
No significant drug interactions are reported for Lutisone.
Store below 30°C and do not freeze.
